National Health Insurance (NHI)

Aliens who hold a Resident Visa for more than four months should apply for National Health Insurance (NHI) with their Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) at the local District Office. Otherwise, you will be fined NT$3,000 ~ 15,000 and be charged with the insurance fee from the date you are qualified for application.

If students are planning to apply for NHI for the next term, they may choose not to join the Medical Insurance offered by the Chinese Language Center.

• The first time applicants please fill in the NHI IC card application.

  2. Application Location：Gong-bao Building, Gong-yuan Rd & Qing-dao West Rd., MRT Taiwan Univ. Hospital Station

• Remember to cancel your NHI at the same Local District Office 2~3 days before leaving Taiwan. If not, it may jeopardize your application for entering Taiwan again.
